It’s so easy to be invaded by spiders! Making these little critters is a quick and easy project, perfect to do with the kids!
Materials:
- Smooth styrofoam balls (any size)
- Black paint and paint brush
- Black pipe cleaners – 8 for each spider
- 2 “googly” eyes for each spider
- fishing line or strong thread and large long needle
- hot glue
Paint the balls black (get some help from the kids for this fun step) and let dry. If you want your spiders to hang from a web, thread the large needle with fishing line or strong thread. Pull needle through the center of the ball (pliers might help to pull needle through) and tie off end.
That was the hard part.
For the legs I find it easier to make a hole for each pipe cleaner leg with the large needle or a tooth pick. Hot glue each piper cleaner leg in, and glue two eyes. Bend and shape the legs, and your spider is done!
Hang them from webbed branches, to make a fun center piece , hang them in the windows or the door ways, add them to a wreath or just have them “walking” on the table.
Hi Jacki:
