Felt Napkin Rings from Paper Towel Roll

If you have crafting children or one who wants to try out a fun craft, this might be it! I have made these out of felt, but scrapbook paper or construction paper would work great too.

Materials

  • scissors
  • felt or paper (I used felt in brown, light brown, tan, green and orange)
  • glue or hot glue
  • Paper towel roll
  • DMC floss or thread (optional) and needle
  • Optional: Leaf template {DOWNLOAD TEMPLATE PDF HERE}

Cut the paper towel roll into 2 1/2″ pieces. You could get 4 pieces or rings from one roll.  Cut the dark brown felt so it will cover the roll and glue in place.

Download the leaf pattern (or make your own).  Cut out the leaves from light brown and green (each ring will have one of each).  A fun idea would be to let the kids paint or color paper leaves.

With DMC floss or thread, stitch on leaves.

Cut a strip of tan felt that will fit around the napkin ring.  With floss or thread quick stitch down the center.  Glue around each ring.  From the orange felt cut strips and make a knot in center.  Glue one green and one light brown leaf on each ring, and add the orange tie.

These napkin rings will add that special charm to your table, and your kids will be so proud to have their creativity on display!
